Job Summary: The Statistical
Assistant for the Road User Satisfaction Survey (RUSS) will support the design
and pretest of survey instruments; selection of the RUSS sample; preparation of
field teams for field work, management of field returns and undertaking data
processing and basic analyses.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Tasked with updating the RUSS sampling
frame; - In charge of undertaking sample selection
following established procedures; - Designing and pretesting the mobile data
collection application for the RUSS; - Undertaking data processing and
preliminary analyses; and - Supporting the training and supervision of
field teams; - Tasked with receiving and collating data
from field teams; - Responsible for the documentation of
statistical procedures and processes at the different stages of the
survey.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Road
Fund Statistical Assistant career placement must hold an Honors Bachelor’s
degree in Statistics or Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics or
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from an officially
recognized University. Post Graduate qualifications in Statistics,
Computer Science/IT, or Information Systems are an added advantage. - A minimum of two years of progressive
experience undertaking data management for large surveys - Previous experience or knowledge in design
and use of mobile data collection applications preferably Open Data Kit (ODK)
or Kobo Toolbox; - Experience in use of statistical packages
such as SPSS and Stata; and - Excellent analytical skills;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks;
- Ability to work under pressure in order to
meet tight deadlines; and - Ability to work under minimal supervision;
