from cane grown on lush plantations on the shores of Lake Victoria. The sweet,
sparkling crystals with their distinctive taste and flavour, and rich golden
colour, have sweetened dishes all over Uganda since the 1930s.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Ensuring that process installation/
    equipments are correctly set properly operated and or maintained,
    regularly clean thoroughly checking to avoid distortions, adulteration or
    contaminating along the process flow line.
  • Regularly monitoring and verifying the
    quality of each process operational unit with help of laboratory
    analytical checks and evaluation.
  • Tasked with scrutinizing shift handover
    reports to grasp the operational behaviour of the process flow and check
    on the physical condition of the plant and stock levels.
  • Promptly checking on equipment failures
    and contingency, breakdowns and ensuring immediate communication and
    co-ordination with personnel concerned to expedite rectification.
  • Work closely with other shift peers,
    monitoring and ensuring compliance with safety precautions and regulations
    for occupational safety of person’s security or plant.
  • In charge of preparing shift handover
    reports covering all aspects of activities mandated to you e.g. pH, brix,
    pol, purity, pressures, temperatures and vacuum etc. including materials
    used and production achieved.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate must be a fresh
    University Graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in any of the
    following:  Chemistry, Food Science
    and Technology or Process Technology.
  • Age: 25 years and above
NB: Experience:
Successful candidates will undertake 24 months on-job- training; therefore will
not require previous work experience.
