Uganda
Theological College was promoted as a university in 1997. Bishop Tucker
Theological College trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history
from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to
operate in Mukono. International partnerships were part of the College’s
missionary history. The Church Mission Society teamed with Ugandan leaders and
others to assure the College had the necessary intellectual and other capital.
By the late 1990s, the Church of Uganda sought to have a broader impact on
society through the higher education – not only of clergy but of other
professionals as well. Uganda Christian University was established in 1997.
The incumbent will be receiving requisitions for
materials from user Departments
In charge of raising purchase requisitions in
consultation with the Stores Supervisor
Receiving the supplies at the time of delivery
Inspection of delivered supplies before storage
Recording supplies received in the relevant
books/computer
In charge of storing the supplies in their
respective places in line with stores lay out & design
Issuing of the supplies to users according to the
approved procedures.
Ensuring safety and security of stock and
premises.
Maintaining up-to-date stores records
Actively participating in stocktaking exercises at
all times
Preparing the necessary reports from time to time
Perform any other official duties as may be
assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Skills and Experience:
The Stores Assistant should preferably hold a
diploma in Procurement & Logistics from a reorganized institution of higher
learning
A minimum of two years of working experience
performing similar tasks
The applicant must be a committed Christian of
high integrity
