Vocational Institute (NVI)
Enterprise – Uganda in 1988 in partnership with Kindernothilfe, a German
childcare organization to offer Vocational skills training to the vulnerable
youth in the country. This establishment was as an aftermath of the rising
number of orphaned children due to the HIV/Aids scourge, and the civil war that
the country had undergone. It was recently accredited by National Council for
Higher Education.
Director Finance and Administration will be in charge of ensuring proper
financial management and accountability for the resources of NVI, Ltd Njeru and
the general administration of the institution.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational
directions to the finance and administration department. - Oversee the day to day administrative
operations of the institute. - Supervise the institution’s financial and
budgeting process. - The incumbent will ensure preparation of
funds requisition in the institution based on agreed work plans. - Manage tax planning and compliance review
exercises. - Keenly review and update the accounting
and financial reporting system of the institute - Manage key financial relationships with
stakeholders including external auditors and bankers, among others. - Provide leadership and performance
management support to the finance and administrative team including annual
review of the team’s performance among others.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should possess a
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Commerce, Management or Business
Administration from a recognized university. - Membership to a professional body (e.g. ACCA,
CMA, CPA, ACA, CFA) - A minimum of four years of working
experience in a reputable organization with two years at managerial level. - A demonstrable background of professional
and strategic leadership, highly motivated and a committed team player. - Broad knowledge and understanding of human
resource and procurement management systems - Familiarity with NGO accounting and
possessing high level planning and coordination skills, be self-driven and
able to work with minimum supervision. - Strong analytical, written/verbal
communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills. - Advanced computer literacy and proven
knowledge and experience with accounting packages e.g. QuickBooks and
Tally is essential. - Mature born-again Christians and
demonstrate an uncompromised Christian witness and commitment. - Age: Between 28- 45 years
