Job Summary:  The  CRB Portfolio Manager will oversee the
entire CRB portfolio by providing an oversight over all CRB related matters
which include but not limited to ensuring BBU compliance to CRB guidelines,
representation in the sub-committee and all related regulatory meetings.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
CRB Portfolio Management process: 50%
  • Ensuring BBU compliance to CRB guidelines
    as set out by the Regulator from time to time.
  • Prepare periodic updates to all
    stakeholders including CMC and the Board on any new CRB developments.
  • Discussing and review of new
    products/services availed by BOU or any other service provider relating to
    CRB issues.
  • Ensure representation in the mandatory
    monthly meetings with the licensed bureaus e.g. Compuscan & Metropol
    as per regulatory requirements.
  • Collation and submission of all 10 monthly
    CRB reports to the licensed bureaus as per the regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively represent and align the
    interests of the business to the CRB sub-committee so as to improve on
    reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure efficient management of all
    disputes (internal and external) within the set timelines/Service Level
    Agreement in order to avoid pointless regulatory penalties.
  • Work closely with relevant internal
    stakeholders to setup internal policies, audit reviews, procedures and
    SLA’s related to CRB.
People Management: 30%
  • Drive CRB awareness by embedding
    obligatory training and refresher trainings in the Learning and
    Development annual program for both new and existing colleagues.
  • Invent ways of making sure that relevant
    stakeholders in the business continuously improve our data quality in line
    with the regulator thresholds.
  • Ensure business continuity for CRB related
    activities such as data submissions, dispute resolution, and training and
    agree individual/ team performance standards/targets.
  • Set standards, Agree and review individual
    and the team’s performance against SMART objectives.
  • Ensure team development by Identifying
    training needs of team members and recommending training plans to satisfy
    the evolving changes in reporting, dispute resolution and versions of data
    rules as advised by the regulator.
  • Initiate disciplinary process for team
    members where required in line with the Barclays Disciplinary and
    Grievance procedures.
Controls: 20%
  • Ensure that accurate data is submitted by
    the 10th monthly and aggressive follow-up is made to close out identified
    issues.
  • Ensure that data submission is done within
    the agreed data standards and report/escalate any hindrances immediately.
  • Communicate any changes about CRB to the
    concerned stakeholders e.g. the Retail/Corporate
  • Share best practice and highlight any red
    flags that are a result of relaxed policies and processes.
  • Ensure that there is business continuity
    and achievement of business targets.
Risk, Governance and Regulatory: Ensure that all activities and
duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements,
Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and
Policy Standards. Understand and manage risks and risk events (incidents)
relevant to the role.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Barclays Bank
    CRB Portfolio Manager career opportunity should hold a University Degree
    from a recognized Institution.
  • At least seven years of banking experience
    with two years at a managerial level.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of
    regulatory lending requirements and standards
  • A good knowledge of the bank’s lending
    policies, principles and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of the Data
    Standardization manual & Data Validation rules.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office,
    ability to use SQL.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the
    segment specific products and services
  • Detailed knowledge of the Personal Sector
    credit risk policies, risk pricing, risk management procedures and tools
  • Sound knowledge of the bank’s lending
    criteria in the Small Business and Personal sectors and the
    products/services relating to them
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the
    segment specific products/ services and standards.
  • A good understanding of the bank’s
    performance management techniques.
