Job Summary: The Nurse will
work to contribute to an improvement in the overall health of the targeted
community through the provision of quality nursing care. The nurse will work
collaboratively with the health team; Ministry of Health staff and partners to
meet the needs of patients, promote healthy behaviors, strengthen health
systems and increase local capacity. The role holder will be expected to work
outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Save the
Children Nurse job placement should be a registered nurse with relevant
professional experience. Degree is an added advantage. - Previous experience of working a role with
MoH or NGO desirable. - Excellent understanding of broad health
issues within community. - Familiarity with community, culture and
customs. - Good understanding of local humanitarian
context. - Strong communication skills including
clear style of giving instructions. - Excellent interpersonal and counselling
skills. - Able to effective engage with the local
community, including children. - Able to keep accurate records.
- Proven ability to provide supervision and
training. - Knowledge of health promotion strategies.
- Able to establish good working
relationships and positively contribute to a team. - Able to priorities and plan, co-ordinate
and monitor own and work of others. - Flexible, positive and proactive approach
to work. - Able to work in a stressful and changing
environment with limited resources. - Willing to keep abreast of new
developments through continued learning. - Able to recognize and respect confidential
matters. - Concern for the wellbeing of children and
interest in Child Rights - Past exposure and experience of working
with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights
Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is
an added advantage. - Excellent analytical skills and strategic
planning abilities. - Ability to establish and maintain
conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a
team. - Computer literacy and excellent
documentation skills are a must. - Highly developed cultural awareness and
ability to work well in an international environment with people from
diverse backgrounds and cultures. - Ability to intervene with crisis
management or troubleshooting as necessary. - Exceptional interpersonal and
communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching. - Excellent time management and planning
capacity. - Availability and willingness to work extra
hours during times of humanitarian responses. - Willingness to travel and work in
hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
