Job Summary: The Finance
Assistant will provide timely technical, financial and administrative
management to project staff and ensure proper accounting records for all
financial transactions of the project are maintained. The jobholder will also
make periodic financial reports to the Finance Manager.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Management of floats/Advances; Ensure staff advances and travel
floats are issued strictly within the Windle Trust guidelines, all
recoveries in respect of advances and floats owed by staff members to
Windle Trust are appropriately deducted from salaries on specified dates. - Petty cash management; Ensure a complete and accurate record
of petty cash transactions is maintained at all times, that expenditure of
petty cash is fully monitored and requests for replenishments are made in
a timely manner with strict observation of the insured limit of the
cash in safe hands. - Cheque payments and invoice management;
Process cheque
payments, ensuring that invoices are thoroughly checked and that payment
vouchers raised are made, appropriately supported and approved alongside
the cheque and subsequently filed safely. - Asset management;
- The incumbent will ensure fixed asset register/schedules are
maintained and updated regularly. - Administer proper coding of all programme expenses in the book
of accounts and on accounting documents. - Reports;
- Compile monthly education progress reports.
- Write donor quarterly and annual reports for the programme
manager. - Analysis of all reports and provide a frame work for dealing
with emerging issues. - Administration;
- Set up and maintain an efficient and effective up to date records
management system ensuring the safe custody of office documents. - Disburse payments to staff, suppliers etc. and ensuring that all
payments are authorised and backed up with proper receipts, invoices and
other relevant documentation.

- The
ideal candidate for the Windle Trust Uganda Finance Assistant job
opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree
in Finance and Accounting - A
minimum of two years of proven experience in effective and efficient
management of Funds. - At
least one year of progressive experience gained within a humanitarian NGO
is preferred. - Excellent
planning, analytical, conceptual and organizational skills. - Ability
to motivate staff and students to perform maximally and a good
team-player. - Computer
literacy skills i.e. Mastery of office software (MS Word, Excel, and Power
Point) required. - Able
and willing to live, work, travel in fast-paced and difficult environment
adhering to strict security guidelines. - Ability
to work independently with minimal supervision. - Excellent
analytical and documentation and management skills - Proven
ability to ability to produce high performance - Previous
experience in Training of Trainers/Facilitators skills (TOT and TOFs) - Working
knowledge of computers in MS Office, Excel, Word and Power Point.
