organization dedicated to work with children and families in Uganda, to rise
above their daily pressing needs. The Vision of ARD is community where children
and families are able to live their full potential. Its mission is to Work with
children and families to partake their rights and promote social
transformation. In doing this, it focuses on issues of child health, child
rights and family livelihoods that affect families in rural and hard to reach
areas in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Project
Team Leader provides program and team leadership in planning, control,
coordination, budgeting and reporting.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Leadership: The Team Leader will work with the
    team and key stake holders to set key goals and major objectives.
    He/she is expected to champion the project, to be clear about program
    priority in the portfolio, to demand excellence from team members and to
    support team member personal development.
  • Decision
    making/judgment:

    The Team Leader will involve in making decisions and accepting
    accountability for the decisions.
  • Planning: The Team Leader will be responsible
    for developing project plans that work to achieve progress against set
    targets effectively and efficiently.
  • Influencing: The Team Leader will make
    sure team members and their line managers and key stakeholders support the
    project.
  • Negotiation: Needs to interact directly with line
    managers to ensure resources are available when needed, and to negotiate
    amendments to the project plan especially those that change
    deliverable completion dates.
  • Communication: Keep team members and stakeholders
    informed of key developments, program decisions, issues and changes to the
    project and the project plan.
  • Carry
    out other duties assigned by the Director.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    applicant must hold a Post graduate training in Rural Development, Social
    Sciences, and Humanities, Management or any other relevant field of
    specialty. A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
  • A
    minimum of six years of post-graduate training experience, five of which
    should have been spent as part of the senior management level team and
    engaging in proved systems in planning, coordination, budget and control
    of community development initiatives in Agriculture, Nutrition WASH
    and HIV/AIDS and Public Health
  • Good interpersonal skills
