Coordinator and National Programme Coordinator- Sustainable Livelihoods

is to work with the poor and the ActionAid Uganda (AAU), a national development
organization registered under the laws of Uganda and with a local Board.
Officer will implement the Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Self Employment for
National Development (YESSEN) project activities through the identification of
community poverty issues, planning and managing development interventions while
working with project associates, AAU partners and other development actors in
accordance with the EU Rules and Regulations as well as project proposals/
contracts
Responsibilities:
- Project startup – Carry out
project inception meetings; undertake participatory consultative and
selection meetings in the project area; identify project participants
& youth groups; conduct cluster orientation meetings at community
level with skilled artisans and identify youth to select viable
enterprises; - Plan, implement and monitor YESSEN project
activities, prepare and submit periodic reports that address youth
priority unemployment and poverty issues in line with European Union
guidelines. - Offer support in institutional and project
capacity building initiatives of associates and project participants to
implement project activities in line with the European Union and ActionAid
Uganda principles, values and guidelines. - Plan, implement, evaluate and report on
youth activities within the project area in accordance to the European
Union guideline and ActionAid Uganda policies. - Actively promote European Union and ActionAid
Uganda visibility; and provide technical support to associates, project
participants and stakeholders in line with the Organizational Mission,
Vision and Values.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Action Aid
International Project Officer – Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Self
Employment for National Development (YESSEN) job placement should
preferably hold a University Degree in Social Sciences or related - Possession of a post graduate
qualification in Entrepreneurship or Project Planning & Management is
a MUST. - At least two to five years of capacity
building experience in youth empowerment work, coalition building and
issues advancement through advocacy within civil society. - A minimum of two to three years working
experience in humanitarian, development and advocacy work. - Prior exposure and experience of
fundraising, management and implementation of projects related to youth
empowerment & protection; participation, peace building and conflict
transformation will be and added advantage - Ability to ride a motorcycle is a MUST.
