based in Atlanta, an Operational Headquarters based in Americus, Georgia, and
Area Office bases of operations in Manilla, Philippines for our Asia and
Pacific work, San Jose, Costa Rica for our Latin American and Caribbean work
and Bratislava, Slovakia for our Europe, the Middle East and Africa work.
Job Summary: The Programme
Development Specialist will be responsible for growing the scope and quality of
grant-based programmes by prospecting and pursuing funding opportunities and
supporting programme evaluation. This position will also lead support in grant
reporting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • The incumbent will co-ordinate and drive
    the development and implementation of Resource Mobilization Strategies in
    HFHU.
  • Develop adequate and sustainable revenue
    streams in the organization.
  • Take lead in proposal development
    initiatives with the relevant HFHU projects and programs and technical
    staff.
  • Prepare and submit programme reports as
    required by funding agreements
  • Co-ordinate programme reviews with
    managers and external consultants as required
  • Actively participate in monitoring of HFHU
    funded programs
  • Conducting feasibility studies for new
    programs.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as
    directed by the National Director.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a bachelor’s
    Degree in development studies or related field – Master’s preferred.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a
    similar role preferably with a non-governmental organization.
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants
  • Demonstrated analytic capacity and ability
    to write high quality grant reports
  • Familiarity with design of logical
    frameworks for complex projects
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. strong
    knowledge of MS Office applications, spread sheets, database programs, and
    statistical software packages.
  • The candidate should be mature, with
    stable personality and ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
