(Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous not-for-profit child health and development
organisation affiliated to the Baylor College of Medicine International
Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and
treatment Children’s Clinical Centres of Excellence and international program
offices in 11 countries across Africa, Eastern Europe and North America.
Job Summary:  The Program Officer, Adolescent HIV Care
and Treatment will be responsible for providing technical support to the
implementing partners in the implementation and tracking national scale up plan
for Adolescent HIV care and treatment services in line with Ministry of Health
STD/AIDS Control program objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • The Program Officer monitors the
    implementation of strategies for coordinating the technical working group
    inclusive of implementing partners in the formulation and implementation
    of National Paediatric and Adolescent HIV policies, SOPs and guidelines
  • The jobholder will develop and monitor the
    implementation of periodic operational work plans and budgets
  • Bench mark the performance of
    Baylor-Uganda with other IP
  • Regularly monitor the implementation of
    national strategies
  • Keenly monitor the Integration and
    implementation of Ql
  • Build the capacity of regional teams
  • Formulate and implement strategies geared
    towards strengthening advocacy and community mobilization
  • Develop and maintain strategic
    partnerships and networks
  • Conduct operation research.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    applicant should preferably hold any medical-related Master’s degree with
    a background of a degree in M.B.Ch.B and registered with the Uganda
    Medical and Dental Practitioners Council and health systems management
    training.
  • At
    least three years of experience in managing HIV/AIDs related
    programs/projects with (2) years relevant working experience preferably in
    health development at a senior management position, with a reputable
    international NGO, and direct experience with government and donor
    representatives
  • Good team player
  • Good networking and partnership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
    skills
  • The applicant must be dynamic
  • Highly persuasive and convincing
  • Self-motivated and able to demonstrate
    high initiative.
  • Age: Between 35-45 years
