About Hanns:
Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung Africa is part of the Germany based
foundation “Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung” (HRNS), a not-for-profit organization
established in 2005. With the objective of promoting sustainable development,
HRNS implements hands-on projects to improve working and living conditions of
small-scale coffee farmers. Its activities concentrate on the economic and
social development of producer communities by enhancing their competitiveness,
forming and strengthening farmer organizations, creating better market linkages
and promoting access to important support services, while at the same time promoting
sustainable coffee farming and long-term use of natural resources. Hanns R.
Neumann Stiftung Africa is implementing a new USAID-funded program addressing
climate change adaptation in coffee production.
Job Summary: The Program
Manager will take overall responsibility for the performance of the program
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Plan and supervise program activities
  • Manage the program budget
  • Coach and mentor program staff and monitor
    their performance
  • Organize and conduct stakeholder meetings
  • Prepare and submit progress reports
  • Develop a network with other climate
    change practitioners
  • Report to the General Manager of Hanns R.
    Neumann Stiftung Africa
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should at least hold a
    Bachelors’ Degree (preferably Master) in agriculture, environmental
    sciences or similar discipline
  • Expert knowledge in sustainable farming
    systems and environmental/biodiversity conservation
  • At least seven years’ experience in coffee
    production and in climate change adaptation would be a strong advantage
  • Highly self motivated and disciplined
  • Excellent communication skills both orally
    and in writing
  • Strong management and personnel skills
