Job Summary: The Procurement
Manager will be responsible for the entire procurement, inventory management
and distribution function for the AKUH Kampala Project. This includes ensuring
timely and cost effective purchase of supplies, owner furnished material and
equipment for the project.

- Working with the approved Consultant/s
coordinate the entire process of documentation, tendering and contract
award. - In charge of supervising the procurement
functions of construction related material - Managing the purchase of medical and
non-medical equipment and supplies - Overseeing all inventory management
functions, quality control, warehousing and distribution. - Ensuring the procurement process is
executed effectively keeping in mind the institutional Objective of cost
effectiveness, customer satisfaction and quality standards - Managing inventory levels and plan the
purchasing to avoid express couriers and air lifting of cargo - Ensuring compliance with institutional
procurement procedures and ethical supply chain management conduct,
thereby maintaining complete transparency in all purchasing decisions - Prequalifying suppliers and ensuring
annual appraisal/ evaluation.

Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
Master’s degree in Business Administration - Professional Qualification in Supply Chain
Management - Previous experience in procurement in a
health care set would be an added advantage.
