About US:
The AIDS Support Organization (TASO Uganda) is an organisation
contributing to a process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and
improving the quality of Life of persons, families and communities affected by
HIV infection and disease.
Job Summary: The Procurement
Manager will oversee the procurement function of TASO, provide technical
assistance to the procurement committees on procurement matters and give
support to departments and projects in regards to procurement activities.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • In charge of the development of
    procurement and disposal policies, systems, strategies, plans and procedures
  • Provide technical support and guidance on
    procurement matters
  • Ensure contracts and memorandum of
    understanding are developed
  • Ensure compliance with procurement
    processes established and that reports are submitted in time
  • Tasked with the coordination of assets and
    inventory disposal
  • Organizational capacity development
  • Coordination with the Chairperson
    procurement Committee
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a
    Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management Certificate, a
    Master’s Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management with Membership to
    the Institute of Procurement Professionals of Uganda (IPPU).
  • At least five years’ experience in the
    management of procurement activities in a fairly large organization,
    preferably donor-funded. Specific Knowledge of Laws, policies and
    regulations governing procurements will be an added advantage.
