Job Summary:   The MEAL
Coordinator – MNCH Italy will be in charge of providing oversight for the
project’s MEAL function including putting in place and ensuring project uses
basic M&E tools to adequately plan, monitor and report in a timely manner
on activity implementation; outputs and outcomes; in collaboration with the
regional MEAL manager and CO MEAL advisor, and project team ensure project has
information brief; regular sharing of project updates with stakeholders; a
mechanism for collecting, tracking and responding to  feedback and complaints from project partners
and stakeholders; in collaboration with project manager , and the livelihood
specialist ensure project has and uses quality benchmarks in implementation of
project activities; together with PM and livelihood specialist identify a
learning agenda for the project; plan for learning activities and documentation
of learning experiences;. In addition provide technical support and supervision
for  data management senior officer to
ensure that project data for informing outputs and outcome progress is
collected accurately and in timely manner; support training of project team and
partners on quality data collection and management including use of data to
inform decisions on YIA priorities ; responsible for day to day management of
the project implementation plan including; updating of the plan after project
start up; ensuring availability of tools for collecting data for project
indicators; maintaining an updated project output and indicator tracker;
providing monthly updates to PM and project team of project performance against
activity and output targets; in collaboration with the PM facilitating work
planning meetings and quarterly review meetings; tracking use of activity
quality bench marks by project team; and performance of project against quality
bench marks; drafting project reports; storage of all project documentation
including project reports;  support to
and training of project team and implementation partners on project indicators
and quality data generation.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Save the
    Children MEAL Coordinator – MNCH Italy career vacancy should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in statistics and 
    development work 
  • Additional training and experience in  monitoring and evaluation, MIS and Open
    MRS  is an added advantage
  • At least three years’ experience in monitoring
    and evaluation work for an Adolescent Friendly  Sexual Reproductive Health (AFSRH)or
    Health related programming in Uganda (preferably with an International or
    national NGO).
  • Knowledge and use of various survey
    methods for monitoring of community development programs
  • Additional training and mentorship of
    District level partners and or stakeholders in data collection management
    and reporting
  • Effective interpersonal skills –
    networking, oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate
    via email as well as the use to Skype and other communication
    technologies.
  • Diplomacy and Confidentiality, Planning
    and organizing skills
  • Computer literacy skills: Microsoft office
    especially word, spreadsheet (Excel), Access , and management of large
    data bases including use of MYSQL
  • Past exposure and experience of working
    with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights
    Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is
    an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strategic
    planning abilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain
    conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a
    team.
  • Computer literacy and excellent
    documentation skills are a must.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and
    ability to work well in an international environment with people from
    diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to intervene with crisis
    management or troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and
    communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
  • Excellent time management and planning
    capacity.
  • Availability and willingness to work extra
    hours during times of humanitarian responses.
  • Willingness to travel and work in
    hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
