Insurance Industry in Uganda. It is also the representative insurance
professional body under the Law. IIU is licensed by the National Council for
Higher Education (NCHE) as a private tertiary institution.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the development and implementation
of an IT strategic plan. - The IT Officer will ensure that all the
Institute software is licensed, keep record of licenses and undertake the
renewal process in cases of expiry. - Manage the network maintenance
- Configure new workstations, laptops and
other ICT related equipment. - Routinely interface with all other departments
and clients online - Install, maintain and troubleshoot
laptops, printers and copiers as well as managing their toner requests. - Set-up and support visual and audio
equipment for training and other presentations. - Ensure the security of data from internal
and external attack, providing users with support and advice. - Recommend hardware and software
acquisition, operating systems upgrades and information materials for the
setup of a fully-fledged modern information centre - Carry out full system backup, virus checks,
removal and antivirus update - Undertake any other duties as assigned by
the supervisor.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or any
other related qualification with an IT certification from a recognized
Institution. - A minimum of three years’ experience in a
similar field. - Ability to establish and maintain
effective working relations with people of different backgrounds. - Impeccable level of integrity
- Effective written, oral and presentation
skills. - Ability to identify key issues and
problems from complex situations - Willingness to work long hours and over
the weekends. - Good team player
