Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African
Republic (MINUSCA)
Uganda
Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) by
its resolution 2149 (2104) of 10 April 2014 and requested the Secretary-General
to subsume BINUCA in the new mission as of the date of the adoption of that
resolution. It further requested the
Secretary-General to ensure a seamless transition from BINUCA to MINUSCA.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares
material request orders for transfer of assets. - Prepares
Service Entry Sheets and other actions within UMOJA and obtains the
funding certification. - Works
closely with relevant divisions/departments (e.g., procurement,
accounting) with respect to verification and processing of invoices. - Maintains
contact with relevant mission staff with respect to provision,
co-ordination, monitoring and status of transport services. - The
Logistic Assistant also prepares
requisitions and enters applicable systems data to initiate requisition
process. - Follows-up
and provides updates of ongoing logistics operations and planning as well
as requisition status on a regular basis. - Supports
staff within the Unit with respect to relevant procedures and practices. - The
incumbent records and monitors contract activity. - Organizes, and maintains contract files
and Unit’s manuals. - Maintains
and monitors relevant databases (e.g., stock levels of various supply
items). - Prepares
and submits relevant status reports. - Regularly
monitors insurance coverage of UN fleet. - Exercise
the function of driver for the Entebbe liaison Office. - Performs
other duties as required.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the United Nations
Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African
Republic (MINUSCA) Logistic Assistant job opportunity should hold a High
school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical or vocational
certificate in mechanical, transportation, or other related fields is
desirable. - One to two years of experience in
provision of driver services. - Previous experience as a driver with a
safe driving record. - Experience in driving a variety of makes
and models of vehicles, light passenger Vehicles. - Languages: English is required,
French is desirable.
