Hunger (ACF)
over thirty years, ACF has been
implementing Food Security and Livelihoods, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and
Hygiene programs in the Lango, Acholi, West Nile and Karamoja regions in
Uganda.
Monitoring Officer will be monitoring Community Based Supplementary Feeding
Program (CBSFP), Blanket Supplementary Feeding Program (BSFP) and Maternal and
Child Health Nutrition Programme (MCHN) food utilisation at health facilities
and community.
Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate
the supply of CBSFP, BSFP and MCHN food at all distribution points - Regularly
monitor CBSFP, BSFP and MCHN food stores and ensure that the food
commodities are stacked in an organised manner. In addition, ensure
good storage conditions for all food items (NFIs such as pallets are
present in the food stores).
- Identify
and propose training needs of store keepers, food distribution assistants
and other staffs involved in food utilisation. - Keenly monitor and document straining, experience learning undertaken to
support programme implementation.
- Prepare
weekly summary reports of daily food transaction/consumption indicating the
number of children, pregnant and lactating mothers registered and fed - Prepare
and submit monthly corporate partner distribution/food utilisation (CPDR)
reports.
Supervision:
- Supervise
store keepers and food distribution assistants involved in MCHN,
BSFP & CBSFP food distribution at health facility and community level - Identify
and propose training needs of store keepers and food distribution
assistants.
Representation:
- Participate
in internal and external meetings according to the APM/ PM guidance
- Actively
participate in events organizing in the refugee and host community
setting.
Experience:
- The applicant for the Action Against
Hunger ACF Food Monitoring Officer career opportunity should preferably
hold a Bachelor’s degree in
food science/food processing technology, Store and records management,
Nutrition or related field from a recognized university. - At
least two years’ experience implementing similar projects preferably
in emergency context. - Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English
- Knowledge
of word processor, spreadsheet and other programs is advantageous - Excellent
facilitation skills - Ability
to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently - Extremely
flexible with the ability to cope with stressful situations - Excellent
reporting skills with good oral and written communication skills - Knowledge
of the local language is an added advantage - Diplomatic
and culturally sensitive - Possession
of a valid riding permit
