Responsibilities:
- The Finance and Administration Officer
will be in charge of management and oversight on Federation financial
resources. - Responsible for administration (Assets,
stores over sight and management). - Responsible in charge of payroll
management. - Financial forecasts and reporting.
- Ensuring proper accountability.
- Mentoring and supervision of line staff.
- Monitors project/grants fund utilization
compliance. - Complies with local tax laws and other
local legal requirements. - Coordinates annual external audit;
preparation of required documentation and support implementation of the
resulting plan of action and audit corrective measures. - Monitoring procurement processes
Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Commerce (Accounting), Business Administration (Accounting) or
any other Finance management related field with a relevant experience. - Partial professional qualification of ACCA
or CPA is an added advantage - Certificate in Procurement and Supply
Chain Management is required - A minimum of three years’ working
experience in a busy NGO setting. - Practical computer skills and experience
with any accounting software is desirable. - Excellent reporting skills with the ability
to meet tight deadlines. - Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills. - Ability to work under pressure.
- Highly flexible and able to work beyond
normal working hours, as need arises. - Demonstrated relevant work experience in
accounting, including analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, and
financial software/ reporting systems. - Previous experience in an organization
with UN/EU/USG Grants Standard Provisions and Financial Requirements
preferable. - Broad knowledge and understanding of
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, International Accounting
Standards, internal controls, and segregation of duties. - Good understanding of grants
administrative, financial and general management principles and skilled in
financial reporting, budgeting and taxes. - Ability to work independently and under
tight time constraints. - Demonstrable team work.
- High level of personal integrity, honesty
and accountability. - Keen attention to details.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet
deadlines. - Excellent interpersonal communicative
skills; experience in team leadership and participatory management. - Ability to maintain confidential financial
information. - Previous experience in NGO setting
