Uganda with the vision of having ‘Dignity for every person with disability.’
NUDIPU exists to advocate for the rights of PWDs in a unified voice for
improved livelihoods.
Project.
Assistants will take lead in the implementation of activities for the iSAVE Inclusive
Economic Empowerment Project.
Responsibilities:
- The Programme Assistant will take lead in
the implementation of the iSAVE Inclusive Economic Empowerment programme
activities in the district - Serve as an Agent to the EEP bank account
and the District Union Accounting person in regard to this Project. - Mentor and train community
mobilizers/Field Promoters in the Programme models, - Champion the Data collection efforts,
including the close programme monitoring and quality control. - Collaborate and network with other
organisations in the fields of Economic Empowerment in the district. - Conduct technical capacity assessments of
the District Union and establish District Union specific work plans. - Provide advice and training of the Field
Promoters (FPs) and Focal Persons according to previously agreed schedules
as well as on demand basis. - Provide regular technical oversight of the
District Union funded by NUDIPU with regard to activity planning,
implementation and programme performance (documented monitoring visits) - Develop and disseminate monthly and
quarterly progress, financial and MIS reports from DUs to the Headquarter
based Programme Manager, through the Programme Officer. - Compile and submit quarterly progress
reports by the DU on the technical assistance provided, performance of DU
staff, EEP model consistency, lessons learnt and emerging issues - Support programme-wide progress and impact
assessments - Preside over the community sensitization
meetings - Supervise and appraise the Field Promoters
under his/her supervision
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a bachelor’s degree in a related field with relevant working experience - Excellent analytical and report writing
skills - Excellent written and oral communication
skills - Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Demonstrable ability to build teams
- Computer literacy in the following
packages; database, Power Point, Excel and Ms Word - Knowledge and experience of working with
local communities and persons with disabilities - Good fundraising skills
- Knowledge of the native language spoken in
the district of choice - Ability to ride a motorcycle is an added
advantage
