Job Summary: The Community
Health Officer –Nutrition will be responsible for supporting Implementation of
Micro Nutrient Powder (MNP) activities through Village Health Teams and health
assistants to ensure beneficiary identification, community mobilization and
sensitisation, training Village Health Teams, organising district and community
sensitisation meetings on Micro Nutrients Powder (MNP), ensure distribution,
beneficiary follow up and ensure proper utilisation of the MNPs at household
level among South Sudanese refugees with children 6-59 months.

Responsibilities:

Technical Support:
- Facilitate
beneficiary identification of children 6-59 months in the targeted
settlements - Facilitate
sensitisation meetings at the settlement level for all settlement leaders,
community members and the OPM officials on proper utilisation of
MNPs and increase awareness on access points and distribution cycle.
Capacity Building:
- Organise
district and settlement stakeholder sensitisation meetings on MNPs - Mentor
and train VHTs on MNPs.
Assessment and Reporting:
- Participate
in the end line survey to evaluate MNP adherence, acceptability, coverage
and beneficiary experience. - Ensure
regular collection of household nutrition data, compilation and reporting.
Staff Management &
Supervision:
Supervision:
- Organise
and facilitate regular meetings with VHT and provide regular feedback on
the matters discussed - Conduct
on the job mentorship and supervision for the VHTs.
Coordination &
Representation:
Representation:
- Mobilise
communities and community leaders to participate in ACF project in
community activities and organise regular community meetings to address
areas for program improvement - Participate
in internal and external meetings according to the PM guidance.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

- The applicant for the Action Against Hunger
ACF Community Health Officer –Nutrition job placement should preferably
hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Nutrition from a recognized university - A
minimum of three years of field related experience in implementing
a project of Micro Nutrient Powder supplementation in an emergency context.
- Extensive
knowledge and experience in implementation of MNPs, Community Nutrition
and health programs - Excellent
communication skills (written and oral) in English. - Knowledge
of word processor, spreadsheet and software use like ENA, SPSS plus other
programs advantageous - Previous
experience working in emergency context will be an added advantage - Excellent
facilitation skills - Ability
to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently - Extremely
flexible with the ability to cope with stressful situations - Excellent
reporting skills with good oral and written communication skills - Knowledge
of the local language is an added advantage - Diplomatic
and culturally sensitive - Fluency
in written and spoken English - Fluency
in the local language is a must - Possession
of a valid riding permit
