Kabale University (KAB)
Kabale, Uganda
established as a not-for-profit community institution in 2002 and it has
transformed from a private into a public University. Kabale University is,
therefore, a unique institution, enjoying the status of being the first ever
institution of its kind in Uganda, to metamorphose from private to public – and
having been granted a Charter – the last stage of accreditation by the Uganda
National Council for Higher Education.
The
University Bursar should preferably hold a Masters degree in Accounting or
Finance.
Full
professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CIMA.
The
applicant must be Member of a recognised professional accounting body such as
the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) or equivalent.
At
least ten (10) years working experience in financial management of a reputable
organization, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Deputy
University Bursar or equivalent.
High
degree of integrity with excellent communication, leadership and people skills.
Computer
literacy skills with good working knowledge of standard office documentation
software and with demonstrable knowledge and skills in computerised Financial
Management systems and packages.
Demonstrated
ability to initiate and institute measures to enforce prudent financial
management and proper use and accountability of the University’s fiscal
resources.
