operating The Daily Monitor, Saturday Monitor and Sunday Monitor newspapers,
93.3KFM, 90.4 Dembe FM, Nation Couriers and the Monitor Business Directory.
Job Summary: The Business
Executives will maintain and increase a solidly dependable client base, to sell
advertising space and provide an effective service to clients so as to maximise
radio advertising sales volumes and revenue targets for both KFM and Dembe FM.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Thoroughly familiarises oneself with
    comparative (own and competition) audience ratings rates and cost of
    advertising in all print and electronic media.
  • The jobholder identifies potential
    advertising clients, studies their business, current and potential
    customers and convinces the clients the value and benefits of advertising
    on Radio and other media platforms published by the Company.
  • Prepares daily, weekly and monthly
    prospect lists daily and shares them with the Business Manager and
    contacts and follows them p
  • Prepares proposals for prospective and
    existing clients in order to sign them on
  • Executes sales by discussing and obtaining
    accurate client requirements, length of spot ads dates for insertion and
    price,
  • Assists clients in the preparation of the
    advertising copy and liaises with Production for professional advice.
  • Liaises with clients for approval of final
    spot ads and obtains appropriate signatures from authorized client
    representative.
  • Works closely with Credit Control and the
    clients regarding payment terms and collections.
  • Follows up and checks advertisements to
    ensure that the final reproduction is as agreed with client.
  • Builds and maintains clients through
    relationship management.
  • Prepares daily call plans and sheets and
    discusses them with the Business Manager- Radio and reports any problems
    encountered for assistance and guidance.
  • Brainstorm and identify promotions that
    will boost the revenue from this section
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicants should hold diplomas/
    bachelor’s degrees in any business-related course. Higher Diploma in Sales
    and Marketing
  • A minimum of two years sales experience
  • Computer literacy especially in
    PowerPoint, Word and Spread sheets.
  • Ability to build relationships with ease
  • Strong Proposal writing
  • Strong customer focus
  • Business acumen
  • Results oriented attitude
  • High personal standards .
  • Strong communication (oral & written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
