Job Summary: The Senior Manager IT Demand Manager PSO will plan; direct and coordinate all related IT demand and supply planning; managing the annual operating plan and maintaining the demand/supply forecast. The incumbent will efficiently oversee the Hub PMO to ensure together with the appointed Service integrator that all IT build related projects are executed in line with the specified design criteria to meet the overall strategic business objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop the strategy for the demand function in the MTN IS hub in line with global best practice in order to ensure that the organization is viable both internally and externally and as a social and financial entity
· Provide leadership and management with the visibility; control and decision support required to understand and manage the demand management function; as well as provide the team with the expertise to build their capabilities in order to drive effectiveness and efficiencies within the team
· Prepare the annual demand management work plan and ensure the effective execution thereof in order to ensure the business objectives are achieved
· Establish alignment with MTN OPCO objectives in order to effectively drive the overall business and group objectives
· Establish and monitor performance benchmarks for demand management in order to ensure ongoing effectiveness of the division
· Prepare monitor and control the annual departmental budget to ensure expenditure is in line with the business plan
· The incumbent will translate demand requirements into supply requirements, both manpower and capacity (six quarter horizon)
· Balance supply and demand in accordance with supply constraints and customer priorities
· Provide input into the annual planning process by providing a view of committed manpower and committed delivery
· Offer support to identify demand conflicts; recommend escalation where appropriate in order to drive resolution and balance requests for new work with current work load
· Filter demands based on MTN Group initiatives and MTN Group Technology Standardization principles
· Manage the supply plan (i.e. plan showing forecast headcount; skills breakdown and permanent / contractor mix by month)
· Compare forecast versus actual manpower utilization and identify actions to resolve manpower constraints
· Update supply plan in line with variances between actual and forecast demand (captured via the time reporting process).
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The ideal candidate for the MTN Senior Manager IT Demand Manager PSO career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any other relevant/related discipline.
· Possession of an MBA would be advantageous.
· Project communication planning and management
· ITIL certification/knowledge.
· At least five years’ experience which includes at least 3 years of relevant technical IT experience; 4 years project management experience.
· Strong functional knowledge of information Systems.
· Service level agreement management
· Broad knowledge and understanding interaction with Service Integrators.
· Previous experience in creating complex project communication materials; reporting on project status; budgets and results.
