Group in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania with Kenya as the Headquarters. It seeks to
recruit for its valuable client, a Multi-National Oil Company.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Maintain the insurance register and assist
    in claims when incidences occur.
  • Regular check of fixed assets register and
    ensure that monthly depreciation is properly maintained, ensure the fixed
    asset register matches with balances in the accounting system.
  • Initiate monthly verification.
  • Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, creditors.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly listing of
    Debtors.
  • Confirming completeness and accuracy of
    transactions and accounts on a Monthly basis.
  • Ensure statutory payments are made by the
    due dates. (PAYE, LST, VAT, NSSF, and Corporation TAX) and ensure that
    they are correctly computed.
  • Monthly provisions.
  • Preparing for and assist during annual
    audits.
  • Properly Manage the Petty cash.
  • Actively participate in the end month
    reporting.
  • Other additional duties as may be directed
    by the Finance Manager or General Manager
     
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree
    in Accounting or Finance (Business Administration)
  • ICPAU or ACCA certification or equivalent
    Ugandan certifications.
  • At least three years’ experience in
    similar position.
  • Two years’ experience of Oil & Gas
    industry will be added advantage.
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting rules.
  • Vast experience in tax matters.
  • High Ethical values and strict discipline
    of integrity.
  • Ability to be innovative.
  • Good leadership skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a
    self-starter.
  • Knowledge of industry changes in regards
    to issues affecting Finance.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good team player.
  • Ability to maintain confidential
    information.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills.
