About Days for Girls:
Days for Girls Uganda’s mission is to create a more dignified, free, and educated world through access to lasting feminine hygiene solutions. This mission is powered by our three-tier model offering locally made, high-quality washable menstrual hygiene kits, reproductive health education training, and women-led enterprise development. Our current priorities include strengthening our program delivery through regular evaluation, assessment and refresher trainings of our program staff, creation of follow-up support resources for program participants, and improved monitoring and evaluation systems. Our aim is to fully prove our model to allow for scale, replication, and adaption to expand to other countries in 2017 and 2018.
Job Summary: The Program Officer will support our trainers to plan, implement, and deliver our innovative training programs in our office and across the country. Days for Girls anticipates offering enterprise development trainings in Kampala and educational trainings across the country in regions as diverse as Karamoja, Masindi, Aura, Kabale, and more. The fellow will work closely with the Country Director to coordinate with partners, organize training logistics, deliver training material, and train contract-basis trainers. S/he will also work with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to collect relevant program data through tools including surveys, interviews, photographs, and other media. Finally, s/he will provide capacity building support to our in-country team and strengthen the operational systems of the organization on the ground.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support partnership development and relationship management
- Work closely with the Program Manager to identify and recruit new partners
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing partners
- Plan, implement, and deliver training programs (including reproductive health training and entrepreneurship training) throughout the country
- Manage program logistics, including organizing transportation and scheduling
- Communicate with schools and partner organizations
- Develop program agenda
- Ensure team has all materials to run program; create teaching materials when necessary
- Assist with facilitation of training programs
- Keenly analyze and improve organizational systems, including workflow procedures, internal and external communication strategies, and change management
- Provide enterprise development support and resources to Days for Girls Enterprises
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Global Health Corps Program Officer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree

Job Terms and Conditions: Fellows will be provided with housing, health insurance and a living stipend of $550/month. Additionally, fellows will receive an award of $1500 upon successful completion of the fellowship year. Flights to and from the placement site and all other costs associated with GHC programming are included, including $600 in professional development funds. Fellows at Days for Girls are housed in a basic but comfortable private apartment, situated in Kampala, an urban center and capital of Uganda. National fellows have the option to remain in their own housing and receive a supplemental housing stipend.
Note: The living stipend and completion award may be paid out in USD or local currency, as determined by the placement organization.
