Mengo Hospital
Kampala, Uganda
in 1897 in Kampala, and is the oldest hospital in Uganda. It currently serves
as an urban community hospital that provides modern medical care. Mengo
Hospital provides comprehensive care including radiology, obstetrics,
dentistry, orthopedics, and surgery. Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides
critical training and education to health professionals through its various
programs in midwifery and nursing, health sciences, and laboratory technology.
Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated research and development team that works to
find new solutions to health issues in Uganda.
The
Principal Nursing Officer oversee the nursing department
Manages
the planning and administration of nursing services at the Hospital
Ensures
24-hour Nursing services coverage at the Hospital
Ensures
proper implementation of nursing procedures
Manages
the Hospital Nursing staff
The
applicant must be a qualified and experienced double trained and registered
Nursing Officer holding a BSc.N Degree or the equivalent from a recognized
University. Additional training and qualification in Nursing Administration,
Health Services Management or Public Health is a competitive advantage.
A
minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant working experience, three (3) of which in
the same position/role (PNO) or the equivalent at Senior Nursing Officer level
in a large Hospital or health facility
Computer
literacy skills
Excellent
organizational and leadership skills
The
applicant must also be registered and licensed by the Uganda Nurses &
Midwives Council
A
balanced, mature and dynamic Nursing Officer
