Job Summary: The
Audit Assistant will provide an independent objective assurance and consulting
activity designed to add value and improve the organisation’s operation by
using a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the
effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes as required
by WVI Global Audit and Evaluation Standards and International Standards for
the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. The jobholder supports the
Audit Manager in the review and audit of projects and programs to ensure the
promotion of good stewardship of resources consistent with the purposes for
which the funds were given.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
conducting audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, accuracy of
financial records, and efficiency of organizational operations using
professional audit standards and practices;
in the preparation of audit reports using good written skills in accordance
with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal
out any special reviews/investigations as directed by the Audit Manager;
compliance reviews of organization records to ensure compliance with Government
statutory requirements as directed to including but not limited to taxation
laws, employment law and any other applicable local requirements.
reviews of records pertaining to fixed and movable assets to determine degree
to which they are effectively, efficiently and economically utilized as per WVI
Field Financial Manual;
that all audit documentation is discussed and approved by the Audit Manager
before any onward discussion or transmission beyond the Audit Department as
required by WVI Partnership Audit and Evaluation Standards and International
Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing;
Qualifications, Skills and
The applicant for the World Vision Audit Assistant job placement
should hold a first degree in Commerce,
Accounting or Business Administration or a related field
certification in Accounting or Auditing
Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of
Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA)
communication skills
working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, use of microsoft office
System accounting software proficiency
