organization committed to child education, community development, and emergency
relief projects in 30 countries around the world. We have fundraising offices
in the USA, Korea, and Japan, and an International Cooperation Office in
Geneva. Good Neighbors USA opened its Los Angeles office in 2007, which
currently handles fundraising, donor management, volunteer programs, and
marketing campaigns for all major projects. In December 2010, a Washington,
D.C. office was established to network and partner with other organizations, as
well as obtain grants from U.S. government agencies and foundations.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Works closely with the senior driver and
    ensures proper management and handling of office cars both in the city and
    beyond
  • Handles all office vehicles in a safe and
    lawful manner and in accordance with Ugandan traffic regulations. 
  • Maintains the comfort and safety of
    passengers, as per the Logistics Policy Manual.
  • Ensure that seat belts (front and rear)
    are worn at all times and passengers are instructed to fasten them, as per
    the Logistics Policy Manual.
  • Ensure that every GNIUG vehicle is parked
    in an approved safe location. Be in possession of a valid driving license
    at all times.
  • Never take alcohol or any other substances
    that may affect driving capacity, before driving.
  • Maintain the safety, security and
    appearance of the vehicle, as per the Logistics Policy Manual.
  • Conduct daily and weekly checks
    recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. This includes preventive
    maintenance of vehicles, ensure fuel tanks are full prior any journey is
    carried out. 
  • Conducts daily vehicle inspections before
    using the vehicle. Report immediately, any mechanical problem, unusual
    noise or other abnormality, to the General Service Officer.
  • Ensure that all essential equipment is
    kept with the vehicle and is in good working condition, for example, car
    jack, spare tire, First Aid Kit etc., as per the Logistics Manual.
  • Fill daily vehicle logbook, and submit it
    to the immediate supervisor/Country Director.
  • Report any accident immediately, however
    small it may be. Performs other duties when not driving as assigned by
    his/her immediate supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should be Ugandan and a
    holder of at least High School Certificate of Education or its equivalent,
    with proof of academic attendance.
  • A minimum of five years of driving
    experience with clean road record with evidence.
  • The applicant must have a good attitude
    for learning new things.
  • The applicant must be active, dynamic and
    kind to all kinds of people
  • Basic English speaking and writing skills
    are required (Proficient English speakers are very welcomed)
  • Computer skills (MS word, Excel, PPT) are
    an added advantage.
  • Candidates with extra skills in
    photography will be given high priority
  • Ability to be in position to Drive Manual
    Vehicles.
  • Possess a Valid Driving License with at
    least Class B and CM.
  • Age: Between 25-35 years old.
