Inspection Services (MVIS) programme involving the development, installation
and operation of vehicle inspection centers on a national scale to improve road
safety by assuring -the road worthiness of vehicles m circulation in Uganda.
will be responsible for the day to day IT operations at the assigned Vehicle
Inspection Station (VIS) as per SGS IT strategy.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate roll-out of sector applications
Act as the local area network administrator.
The incumbent implement and support applications
Identify local needs and propose projects
Rollout new local applications
Support users (first level) in the assigned VIS.
In charge of back-up and recovery of critical
data in assigned VIS
Implement the deployment, monitoring,
maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems at the VIS,
including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
Provision of end-user services, including help
desk and technical support services.
Perform any other job-related duties assigned by
the IT Manager from time to time.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should hold a University
degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Technology
At least two years’ experience directly related
to IT support
Well versed in all Microsoft based technologies.
Strong technical knowledge of network and PC
operating systems
Knowledge of Cisco IOS and WAN applications is
of additional advantage.
Have a clear customer focus.
Excellent communication, negotiation and
interpersonal skills
Acts quickly and decisively;
Ability to make tough calls
Works well under pressure, challenges status
quo.
