Job Summary: The Senior
Officer Data Management is mainly responsible for ensuring and maintaining an
accurate and up to date project data base to inform the MNCH project
indicators, including providing training and on-going support for project and
partner staff to ensure timely and quality data collection, analysis, storage,
retrieval and reporting; participation in providing data for production of
project periodic reports, compiling data on project progress performance
against set targets. The Officer may be called upon as and when necessary to
support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis and to coordinate
district level activities on behalf of the program manager.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate for the Save the Children
Senior Officer Data Management vacancy should hold a bachelor’s degree in
computer sciences, or statistics. Additional training in biostatistics or
professional data management courses, MIS and DHIS2, is an added advantage;
·        
At least three years’ experience in health
related programming in Uganda (preferably with an International or national
NGO);
·        
Previous experience of working with District
Local Government on health programs with a focus improving reporting for HMIS
using DHIS2;
·        
Additional training and mentorship of District
level partners and or health workers in clinical data collection management and
reporting.
·        
Previous experience in all technical areas of
logistics operations including procurement, transport/distribution,
warehousing, stock, fleet, asset, construction, communications and security
management.
·        
Past exposure and experience of working with
local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance,
Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added
advantage.
·        
Excellent analytical skills and strategic
planning abilities.
·        
Ability to establish and maintain conducive
collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
·        
Computer literacy and excellent documentation
skills are a must.
·        
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability
to work well in an international environment with people from diverse
backgrounds and cultures.
·        
Ability to intervene with crisis management or
troubleshooting as necessary.
·        
Exceptional interpersonal and communication
skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
·        
Excellent time management and planning capacity.
·        
Availability and willingness to work extra hours
during times of humanitarian responses.
·        
Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach
areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
