Procurement Officer
Appoint, promote and exercise disciplinary
control over persons holding public office in Parliament;
Review the terms and conditions of service,
standing orders, training and qualifications of persons holding office in
Parliament;
Provide a Parliamentary reporting service;
Provide such other staff and facilities as are
required to ensure efficient functioning of the Parliament;
To cause to be prepared in each financial year,
estimates of revenue and expenditure for the next financial year; and
Make recommendations to Parliament, or with the
approval of Parliament, determine the allowances payable and privileges
available to the Speaker and Members of Parliament.
Officer will ensure the necessary procurement documentation is in place and is
properly utilized
Responsibilities:
Work closely with and ensure effective
communication with end-user departments and collate their procurement
requirements
The incumbent will manage all procurement and
disposal records
Keenly track inventory and ensure that goods
supplied are inspected in accordance with the relevant specifications
The jobholder will collaborate with user
departments by providing feedback on the status of their procurement
requisitions
Guide suppliers on procurement procedures
Keenly verify and organize documentation
relating to procurement for ease of use
Dispatch tender/bid documents, receive and
register submitted Bids.
Conduct market research/surveys for various
procurement needs
Source quotations for micro procurements
Manage inspection process of assets on disposal
list
Experience:
The applicants should either hold an Honours
Bachelor’s Degree in: Procurement/Purchasing and Supplies/logistics management
Or Business Administration or Commerce with procurement/supplies/logistics as a
subject/ option, from a recognised University/Institution Or Full professional
qualification in procurement and supplies management, such as Chartered
Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or International Supplies Management
(ISM)
Broad knowledge of procurement frameworks Good
analytical and report writing skills An eye for detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Age: 21 years and above
Curriculum Vitae (CV) stating two referees; and certified copies of their
academic certificates and transcripts. The applications should be addressed to
