Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of Parliament;
The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became operational on
1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns, among others.
for the management of electronic and all paper based information/records including
keeping safe custody, indexing and classifying records. The Administration
Officer Registry will also be responsible for developing and implementing
records management policies and classification systems; review and update the
electronic document management system including putting in place a system of
easy access and retrieval of information and establishing a records management
systems at all UNRA stations, ferry landing sites and weighbridges.
- The incumbent will develop and implement
records management policies and classification systems in line with the
approved guidelines; - Index, classify, manage and ensure safe custody
of records and documents; - Establish, review and update the electronic
document management system for easy access and retrieval of information; - Establish records management system at all
UNRA sites including the stations, ferry landing sites and weighbridges; - Regularly respond to audit reports and
implement agreed recommendations within specified time frames; - Develop risk matrix and put in place risk
mitigation measures of management of records at UNRA; - Actively participate in the planning,
budgeting and reporting in line with departmental guidelines and targets; - Manage performance and develop direct reports
in line with the performance management system of UNRA. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head

Officer-Registry job opportunity should hold an Honors degree in Library
and Information Science (BLIS) or any other related field from a
recognized University. - At least three years’ experience in records
and document management, Library or Registry. - Computer literacy skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and to
develop subordinates; - Excellent interpersonal, particularly staff/management
relation skills - Excellent oral and written communication
skills. - Excellent customer service;
- High level of Integrity.
