Job Summary: The Project Manager – Food Security is
responsible for the development and monitoring of the Food Security and
Livelihood project within the West Nile Uganda programme.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Formulate strategies for the Food
Security/Livelihood project as appropriate at the West Nile level; - Prepare/verify proposals related to the
respective sector; - Regularly monitor the Food
Security/Livelihood project as appropriate and ensure high technical
quality and synergies; - Evaluation, review and quality control of
ongoing and completed Food Security/Livelihood programmes as appropriate; - Identify trends in conditions/standards
and donor priorities and assess better ways to assist; - In charge of training and development of
staff; - Ensure adherence to the Food
Security/Livelihood tools and handbooks and other NRC policies as
applicable; - Develop partnerships in the humanitarian
community and coordinate with authorities at provincial and ministry level
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee
Council (NRC) Project Manager – Food Security should hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Social Sciences, Agricultural / Forestry / Aquaculture, Sociology - At least four years’ experience from
working as a Senior Project Manager/Programme Manager in a humanitarian/
recovery context - Experience from working in complex and
volatile contexts - Documented results related to the
position’s responsibilities - Knowledge about own leadership
skills/profile - Fluency in English, both written and
verbal - Managing resources to optimize results
- Strategic thinking
- Empowering and building trust
- Handling insecure environments
