the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter,
education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and
hygiene sectors.
Job Summary: The Project
Manager – Education will be responsible for the development and monitoring of
the Education Core Competency projects within the NRC West Nile programme.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop strategies for the Education
    projects on national level
  • Regularly monitor the Education projects
    and ensure high technical quality and synergies
  • Prepare/verify proposals related to this
    sector
  • In charge of the evaluation, review and
    quality control of ongoing and completed Education programmes
  • Identify trends in conditions/standards
    and donor priorities and assess better ways to assist
  • Training and development of staff
  • Ensure adherence to the Education tools
    and handbooks and other NRC policies
  • Build and maintain partnerships in the
    humanitarian community and coordinate with authorities at provincial and
    ministry level
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee
    Council (NRC) Project Manager – Education should hold a relevant
    Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences
  • At least four years’ experience from
    working as a senior Project Manager/Programme Manager in a humanitarian/
    recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in
    complex and volatile contexts
  • Knowledge about own leadership
    skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and
    verbal
  • Managing resources to optimize results
  • Strategic thinking
  • Empowering and building trust
  • Handling insecure environments
