Construction Supervisors manages the construction activities that take place on
the work site on any given work day
Responsibilities:
Manage the construction of buildings, and civil
works, and supervise site staff;
Guide developers in setting out buildings to
ensure compliance with the approved plans;
Inspect various stages of construction as
stipulated in the building rules to ensure compliance with s rules and approved
plans up to compliance with approved plans up to completion;
Work closely with contractors, client
representatives to ensure uniform interpretation of all working drawings;
Coordinate
the works and activities of site staff and build team work;
Supervise all construction works to ensure
qualitative work, and provide advisory services to the contractor, staff, and
the community;
Control and oversee use of stocks;
Ensure
cost effectiveness of work teams;
Advise on the adequacy of safety measures at
construction sites;
Ensure that projects are completed on schedule,
according to contractual conditions, within budget, and with adherence to high
standards of quality construction;
Work closely with the architect/engineer on all
plans, as needed;
Coordinate all sub-contractors, inspections and
ensure that materials and tools are available for each workday;
Responsible for completion of assigned tasks and
tools assigned on a daily basis;
Maintain good group relations during construction;
Engage in production work on the houses when it
does not interfere with instruction or
Supervisorial duties;
Performs any other duties as required by
manager;
Experience:
The
applicant should preferably hold a Degree or diploma in construction, Building,
Civil Engineering & Architectural
A minimum of two years of relevant experience
Previous supervisory exposure as works foreman/
woman
Computer proficiency
Excellent verbal and communication skills;
Have good management, leadership, communication
and interpersonal skills;
Be a committed team player with high standards
of integrity and honesty;
Be
able to coach and develop subordinates;
Have full drive, initiative, and
self-motivation;
Be able to organize and work under minimum
supervision
Honest and trustworthy
Respectful,
possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
