Solar is the global leader of “pay-as-you-go” energy for off-grid customers.
Since its commercial launch in October 2012, M-KOPA has connected more than
200,000 homes in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to solar power, and is now adding
over 500 new homes each day. The success of M-KOPA (M= mobile, KOPA= to borrow)
stems from making solar products affordable to low-income households on a
pay-per-use installment plan. Customers acquire solar systems for a small
deposit and then purchase daily usage “credits” for US $0.45, or less than the
price of traditional kerosene lighting. After one year of payments customers
own their solar systems outright and can upgrade to more power.
Job Summary:  The Telesales
Agents will be responsible for generating sales through leads provided.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Generate sales leads and interest for M-KOPA
    add on products using scripts, product knowledge and communications skills
  • Make and receive calls from potential
    customers using operating telephone equipment, automatic dialer systems,
    and other telecommunications technologies
  • Document  
    customer information, queries on Customer Relationship Management
    (CRM)  and transactions by
    completing forms and record logs in line with MKOPA data collection policy
  • Maintain customer experience levels within
    the quality standards stipulated and recommend needed changes according to
    MKOPA  customer care policies
  • Receive and resolve client complaints in line
    with  MKOPA customer care guidelines
  • Escalate the sales process as per work load 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate for this position should
    at least hold a bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline in customer
    care and sales
  • One year of experience in sales
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and
  • Result oriented
  • Possess a sales oriented mindset with a high
    degree of persuasion skills and maturity
  • Patient and persistent
  • Service orientation and social perceptiveness
  • Ability to remain composed while handling
    stressful situations
  • Organized and meticulous in carrying out
  • Good team player with pleasant disposition
  • Numerate and quick thinker
  • Ability to multi-task
  • It is an added advantage if  the candidate can speak Luganda,
    Kiswahili and Runyakitala or any other local language of Uganda
