AIDS Support Organization (TASO Uganda) is an organisation contributing to a
process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and improving the quality
of Life of persons, families and communities affected by HIV infection and
disease.
care and health education to Public Health Facilities (PHFs)
- The incumbent will develop work plans for
better guidance during the budgeting process - Offer technical guidance during the budgeting
process - Inform PHF about donor allowables and none
allowables - Ensure availability of medical supplies
- Actively participate in requisitioning for
medical supplies from stores - Keenly monitor utilization of medical
supplies - Provide information to PHF Clients, aimed at
reducing their vulnerability to AIDS and other HIV related diseases and
infections through health education. Provide support to TASO Clients and
Staff on the same - Counsel and educate patients and families
regarding diagnosis and management plans - Define the need for appropriate follow-up
based on age, diagnosis, and psychosocial issues - Develop written patient instructions
appropriate to the clinical situation and caregiver/patient comprehension - Provide medical care to PHF Clients and
support TASO Clients/Staff as well - Utilize potential outcome measures for
evaluating the effectiveness of the management plan (e.g. test of cure for
STDs) - Manage transfers and referral od clients to
other PHFs whenever necessary - Participate in HIV/AIDS awareness and
sensitizations at PHFs and in the communities - Participate in trainings of PHF health
workers - Evaluate nursing care given to the clients
- Evaluate necessary areas of improvement
highlighted in the work of the nurses and clinicians - Provide support to Nurses and Clinicians in
case conferencing difficult cases - Participate in appraisals for the Nurses and
Clinicians
- The applicant for the Medical Officer (DHSS) vacancy
must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBChB) - At least three years of medical service
