AIDS Support Organization (TASO Uganda) is an organisation contributing to a
process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and improving the quality
of Life of persons, families and communities affected by HIV infection and
disease.
- Draw and implement Centre medical plans and
budget - In charge of ART Monitoring
- Develop medical work plan and budget
- implement centre medical work plan and
budgets - Set individual, team and departmental targets
- Evaluate attainment of targets periodically
- Triage clients coming to the clinic
- Provide treatment to clients aimed at
reducing vulnerability to diseases
and infections - Report clients attended to
- Fill MIS forms
- Follow drug code lists when prescribing drugs
- Manage clients flow in the clinic
- Provide medical services to clients as per
current treatment guidelines - Maintain and uphold the appointment systems
- Improvise for innovativeness in management of
clients at the clinic - Adhere to the departmental work plan
- Conduct health education to clients
- Participate in HIV/AIDS awareness and
sensitization of communities - Train community workers and other resourceful
persons - Foster effective communication skills at the
clinic - Link clients to support groups
- Distribute risk reduction kits eg condoms
- Carry out CMEs
- Participate in QI Projects
- Perform nursing techniques and procedures as
requested and prescribed by doctors and clinicians - Summarize nursing techniques and procedures
- Summarize national and international
standards and procedures followed by nurses - Perform all duties and services in full
compliance with set national and international standards and procedures - Monitor patients flow preparation of
examination rooms and taking of vital signs of patients - Prescribe drugs when necessary
- Dispense
drugs and other medical items according to prescription - Carry out training of health workers from
communities and other institutions - Attend general and staff meetings
- Carry out home visits
- Attend to clients in sick bay
- Attend to children in child pray center
- Refer clients to seek other medical attention
- The applicants must hold Diplomas in Nursing
/ Comprehensive Nursing, - Registered with nurses and midwives council
- Training in Counselling
- Training in HIV/AIDS care and support
- A minimum of two years’ experience in
clinical nursing services - Special Knowledge of current HIV trends, Management
of HIV/AIDS and Prevention ,
treatment and diagnosis of HIV / AIDS
