• Carry out periodic internal reviews or system
  audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed (ePortal; eSW;
  Asycuda World use and other e-systems in use within the department)
• Conduct internal investigation of compliance
  issues using the departmental systems
• In charge of the development, implementation
  and maintenance of all systems that support an efficient imports
  inspection regime
• Assess product compliance and operational
  risks and develop risk management strategies
• Ensure integration of systems to support the
  departmental quality management system
• The incumbent will receive, record and submit
  samples to Testing Department and also establish and maintain a clear
  routing mechanisms
• Manage sample coding activities so as to ease
  sample identification and preserve sample integrity
• Follow-up on submitted samples and receive
  test results for onward submission to the supervisor
• Conduct monthly auditing of imports
  inspection reports against information in the system at different stations
  and provide monthly performance reports per station (contrast against
  total imports from URA data)
• Maintain and update records on sample routing
  related information
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  on the operations of the office

• The applicant for the UNBS Senior Inspector-
  Compliance and Quality Assurance job opportunity should hold a Master’s
  degree or post graduate qualification and Honours Degree in Chemistry,
  Biology, Food science, Food Technology, Engineering or any other science
  related qualification from a recognized University/Institution
• Computer literacy skills with key
  competencies in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet applications.
• At least five years’ experience in Standards,
  Quality Assurance, or quality control, Standards Development or Laboratory
  Testing after graduation
• Good team player
• Excellent communication skills
• Good presentation skills.
