Uganda
Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council is a semi-autonomous Health Professional
body under the MOH established by Uganda Nurses and Midwives Act, 1996 to
regulate and supervise the provision of quality Nursing and Midwifery services
to the public. Its mandate is to set and regulate standards of training and
practice of nursing and midwifery and provide professional guidance for public
safety.

- The Internal Auditor will work with the
Council and Management in ensuring
that systems are in place, to identify, analyze and mitigate all
risks; - Plan, organize and conduct the internal audit
function including preparation of audit plans for different departments; - Regularly report to the Audit Committee of
the Council and top management on policies, programmes and activities of
the department - Work closely with the external Auditors to
ensure that areas of concern and audit issues are identified and attended
to - Make recommendations on the systems and
procedures that need attention and monitoring management response and
implementation - Keenly review the internal audit control
procedures and systems to assess their equity and compliance - Audit procurements and payments in line with
accounting and financial procedures and regulations - Audit revenue collection for accountability
purposes - Carry out manpower audit in line with the
approved budgets and work plans - Regularly review and advise on the Council’s
accounting systems in line with the internal controls - Keenly monitor the expenditure of the Council
in line with the budgetary provisions and financial regulations - Carry out any reviews/tasks requested by the
Council or Registrar as may be required from time to time - Prepare and submit audit reports to relevant
authorities - Perform any other tasks as may be assigned
- The applicant should either hold an Honors
Degree in Accounting or Auditing from a recognized University OR Full
professional qualifications in Accounting or Auditing from recognized
institution - A minimum of three years serving as an Internal
Auditor in a busy organization - Sound and contemporary financial management
skills - Practical knowledge and skills in computer
packages in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel) - Concern for quality and standards
- Exhibit a high level of ethics and integrity
- Excellent communication skills
- Time management
