through education.
Job Summary: The Financial Manager will primarily ensure
effective financial management, reporting and transparency
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Ensuring accuracy of monthly accountability
    and entering data into QuickBooks
  • In charge of the managing the monthly payroll
    including PAYE and NSSF payments
  • Responsible for the management/review of
    departmental and organisational budgets
  • In charge of compiling financial reports and
    assisting with donor report writing
  • Reviewing, amending and improving of
    financial mechanisms in line with financial procedures
     
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The applicant must hold relevant
    qualification in accounting
  • At least three years’ experience of working
    in a financial management position
  • Previous exposure and experience working in
    an NGO environment
  • Prior experience in donor reporting
  • Mastery of MS Office programs, specifically
    Excel and Word, and QuickBooks
  • Ability to analyse financial information
    efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of
    confidentiality
  • Excellent communication, diplomatic and
    negotiation skills
  • Disciplined and able to make decisions with
    minimal guidance
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks, planning
    ahead and meeting deadlines
  • Extensive knowledge of financial management
    systems
  • Proven knowledge of Ugandan accounting and
    financial laws including URA requirements
  • Enthusiastic and motivated individual with
    the ability to motivate others
  • Calm demeanor and strong ability to problem
    solve and find solutions
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Fluency in English (professional English
    required) and Lusoga or Luganda
