Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively participates in routine laboratory
operations within the areas of hematology, chemistry, microbiology,
immunology, parasitology and as assigned by the MLC - The jobholder plans, coordinates and
organises all the medical laboratory screenings within Watoto medical
services - Keenly monitors temperatures of the
laboratory, refrigerators, freezers, incubators and heating blocks to
assure proper conditions for testing and storage of supplies. - Updates and maintains inventory of lab
supplies/stock within the laboratory - Works closely with fellow lab scientists, MLC
and Procurement to ensure that
all the laboratories are well stocked - Ensures compliance to policies and Standard
Operating Procedures, including continual development of policies,
protocols, departmental forms and guidelines within the laboratory section
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Watoto Child Care
Ministries Laboratory Technician career opportunity should hold a Diploma/certificate
in medical Laboratory - One year of experience preferably in pediatrics
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to
relate well to children of all ages - High level of motivation and initiative, and
strive for a high standard of practice and passionate about community
health care
