Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is responsible for bulk
purchase of electricity from the generating companies and selling the
electricity in bulk to the distribution companies throughout Uganda. UETCL is
also responsible for all exports and imports of electricity to Uganda. UETCL
envisions: “To become a leading strategic business partner in the transmission
and Single Buyer Business and to support sustainable energy development in
Uganda.”
with conducting investigations into all activities of a criminal nature
committed to the prejudice of Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited.
- Conduct investigations into acts of fraud,
theft, vandalism and unauthorized tampering with the property of the
Company. - Investigate accidents along the Company’s
transmission lines and at other electrical installations within the
Company’s plants and premises. - The jobholder will investigate traffic
accidents involving Company employees and the Motor Vehicle fleet, and
submit report of such an investigation accompanied with a Police traffic
report. - Investigate acts of indiscipline among staff
and submit report. - Apprehend persons engaging in acts that are
offensive to the Company. - Compile and send quarterly and annual crime
status reports. - Process and account for payments and claims
arising from security operations and programs. - Carry out routine inspections of Company
assets nationwide and submit security status reports. - Ensure that persons suspected, arrested and
charges preferred against them in courts of law are followed up on the
status of their court proceedings. - Work closely with and coordinate with police
investigation officers and other relevant authorities as need may arise to
process criminal and witness summons for offenders and witnesses required
for court proceedings to attend court. - Coordinate the Company’s reward system to
institutions and persons whose actions are judged to have performed a
service beneficial to the company. - Perform any other duties as may be assigned
from time to time.
- The applicant should hold an Honours Degree
in Law or Business Administration or Social Works and Administration. - At least ten years’ experience in Police
criminal investigations at a Senior level not below rank of an Officer. - Possess excellent report writing skills.
- Computer literacy skills
- Ability to withstand stressful work situations
and have willingness to work long hours outside the normal hours. - The applicant should demonstrate a background
of good supervisory and interpersonal skills. - Possession of a valid National Driving Permit
is desired. - Be a person of high integrity
- Highly motivated, innovative and a committed team
player.
