Job Summary: The Machine Operator will carry out a set of tasks
using machinery. The jobholder will be responsible for setting up, operating
and maintaining various machines to ensure the interminable and efficient
running of production. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work
with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good
way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to
learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will
require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that
production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and
profits.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set-up machines at the beginning of shift to
ensure proper working order; - Perform testing procedures to ensure that
machines work optimally during the production procedures; - Maintain and clean machines before and after
each shift; - Feed information akin to speed, shapes and
sizes through the machine set up box; - Place parts in semi-automated machines;
- The jobholder will calibrate machines at the
beginning of each shift; - Recalibrate machines at the end of each
shift; - Monitor machines during every procedure to
ensure optimum running; - Troubleshoot problems during machine
operation; - Ensure that regular and preventative
maintenance procedures are carried out; - Perform random tests to ensure accuracy;
- Carry out safety checks on every machine;
- Ensure that machines are producing quality
products by managing periodic checks on output; - Ensure stocks of needed materials are ready
and available at all times; - Create and maintain activity logs;
- Provide relevant information regarding
progress to supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should at least hold a Diploma
in Mechanical Engineering required; - A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of
related experience; - Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Proven ability to obtain results through
others, and to lead - Effective oral and written communication
skills
