Acre Fund (OAF) is an International NGO that supports smallholder farmers to
increase their harvests and thus increase their incomes with a strong footprint
in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania. In these countries our 3,000+ strong
staff serves over 200,000 smallholding farmers and helps them to grow their way
out of hunger and poverty. To do this, One Acre Fund provides farmers with
high-quality inputs like seed and fertilizer, financing, and training.
Job Summary: The Human Resource Recruiter will provide human
resource services in recruitment of talented staff for One Acre Fund (OAF) and
maintain day-to-day administrative and logistical support for the smooth
functioning of recruitment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Human Resource plan: Actively participate in employee
    recruitment planning, and provide suggestions, timelines and
    recommendations on implementation of recruitment. 
  • Recruitment: 
    Prepare advertisements and participate in the interview and
    selection process.  Prepare
    and management recruitment:
    Assist in generation of interview
    question, ensure registration and efficient management of the recruitment
    process 
  • Database management: Maintain an up to date database of
    all applicants. 
  • Onboarding: Implement onboarding strategy
  • Training: In charge of designing and
    implementing trainings on key recruitment for OAF staff & farmers.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in related field – Strong undergraduate background at top East
    African University, or international university. Degrees in agriculture,
    agriculture economics, or related fields preferred.
  • The applicant should possess one to three years
    of relevant work experience including recruitment management, human
    resource processes etc.
  • Applicants with a background in recruitment
    preferred.
  • The applicants should be exceptional
    individuals with a demonstrated long-term passion for development work.
  • Strong leadership skills – we are looking for
    candidates with demonstrated leadership experience at work, or outside
    work. Examples of demonstrated leadership experience include managing a
    team or starting

  • Rural Fit: A willingness to commit to living in
    rural areas of Uganda for at least two years.
  • Language – English required. Knowledge of
    Luganda, Lusoga or other Ugandan languages strongly preferred.
