Limited (NVPPCL), started business in March 1986. It is a multimedia business
housing newspaper, magazines, internet publishing, television, radio
broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising and distribution services.
NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with an expected turnover of
over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).
Job Summary: The Traffic Controller Printing will coordinate the
printing processes in both Newspaper and Commercial printing lines to ensure
timely and accurate production of all scheduled jobs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Create schedules for jobs supposed to be
    printed in order to ensure that printers know what they are going to do
    and prepare accordingly.           .
  • The jobholder will coordinate jobs for
    printing to ensure the right jobs are printed as per the schedule.
  • Make dummies and also ensure job cards are received
    at all printing sections.
  • Prepare and submit printing activity reports
    in order to inform management of job progress and advise on continuous
    process improvement.
  • Responsible and accountable for printing
    materials on the floor.
  • Ensure that plates are made in pre-press in
    order to start the production process on time.
  • Examine newspaper/ print job quality in order
    to avoid errors.
  • Follow up artworks/pages from editorial,
    pre-press, advertising and the production process in order to make sure
    pages/artworks are submitted in time so printing
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree
    in Business related field.
  • The applicant should have at least two
    principal passes in Mathematics and English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
    skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to work under minimal
    supervision.
  • The applicant must be flexible, committed and
    keen to deliver on key targets.
  • Willingness to work long hours and night
    shifts.
  • Computer knowledge.
