Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)
Restoration of Livelihoods in the Northern Region (PRELNOR)
of the Republic of Uganda has received a loan and a grant from the
International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to finance the Project
for Restoration of Livelihoods in the Northern Region (PRELNOR), and intends to
apply some of the proceeds to recruit staff to implement the project. PRELNOR
will cover the districts of Adjumani, Agago, Amuru, Gulu, Lamwo, Kitgum, Nwoya
and Pader.
goal of the PRELNOR is: Increased income, food security and reduced
vulnerability of poor rural households in the project area. This will be
through increased sustainable production, productivity and climate resilience
of smallholder farmers with increased and profitable access to domestic and
export markets.
Financial Controller in ensuring a proper accounting filing system; office imprest management, data entry
and also serve as the Bank Agent.
- In
charge of the preparation of source documents, e.g. payment vouchers,
journal vouchers - Chronological
filing of documents with adequate cross reference to ensure ease of
retrieval - Follow
up of accountabilities, maintaining a detailed log. - In
charge of data entry into the accounting system - Actively
facilitate both internal and external auditors to audit the project’s
financial transactions and reports to meet the required submission dates
by IFAD; - Support
the designated district project accountants - Maintain
key registers such as fixed assets; inputs into the contracts register,
contract monitoring forms - Perform
any other duties that are assigned by the financial controller
- The
ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. - The applicant should currently be undertaking professional qualifications like ACCA and
CPA. - A
minimum of three years of relevant work experience - Excellent
quantitative and analytical skills; - Computer-literate
including accounting packages and well-versed in the use of Excel, Word
and basic data base set-ups. - Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
