Presently Village Power has a presence providing access to off-grid sustainable
energy solutions in Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique, Kenya, and Tanzania. Village
Power offers a range of home solar systems to our customers throughout Uganda.
At Village Power we place a lot of focus on our customers; they are at the
centre of everything we do: our products, our trainings, and our after sales
service.
Job Summary: The Business Development Manager will play a focal
role in building/managing partnerships and varied sales workforces with a clear
understanding of our brand vision in order to meet sales targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The incumbent will manage, train and motivate
    sales teams to ensure they meet the set targets
  • Carry out market sensitizations/trainings
  • Build, maintain and manage key partnerships
    to maximize sales
  • Follow up on and ensure Village Power Centers
    are profitable
  • Carry out research of current and projected
    market trends as the basis for identifying, recommending and implementing
    improved selling and marketing strategies
  • Ensure that all the necessary data associated
    with all sales is captured and accurate
  • The incumbent will plan and conduct
    appropriate marketing and selling strategies for Village Power Solar Home systems
    in coordination with central marketing campaigns
  • Always maintain a good corporate image of
    Village Power and any other relevant duties as assigned by Village Power
    management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold an undergraduate
    degree or a skill set and experience to match
  • At least four years’ work experience in a
    targets driven environment
  • A fun personality
  • High degree of integrity and creativity
  • The applicant must also be a confident and
    authoritative speaker
  • A high degree of self-motivation
  • Passionate for selling
  • Resilience and persistence
  • Ability to communicate with people at all
    levels
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • A team builder
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a
    problem-solving attitude
  • Working knowledge of local languages
  • Technical knowledge of solar products is an
    advantage
  • Computer proficiency (MS Excel, MS Word, MS
    Outlook, Google applications)
