Job Summary: The Accountant will primarily be in charge of the
general accounting function including;
maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and bank
reconciliations, inventory management, journal entries, managing accounts
payable/receivable , assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and
supporting the accounting department

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will prepare journal entries;
- The jobholder will complete general ledger
operations; - Responsible for monthly closings and
preparation of monthly financial statements; - Reconcile and maintain balance sheet
accounts; - Draw up monthly financial reports;
- Prepare analysis of accounts as requested;
- The Accountant will also administer accounts
receivable and accounts payable; - Prepare tax computations and returns;
- In charge of account/bank reconciliations;
- Regularly review and process expense reports.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting Option) or equivalent; - Level II 2 professional qualification i.e.
CPA/ACCA; - At least three to five years’ experience
preferably in Manufacturing or Trading Company; - Working knowledge of accounting principles
and practices; - Working knowledge of local, state and federal
laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation; - Computer proficiency in relevant accounting
software, especially Microsoft Excel, Tally and Quick Books; - Keen attention to detail and accuracy;
- Excellent planning and organizational skills;
- Excellent written and communication skills;
- Good report writing skills;
- Good problem analysis and solving skills;
- Ability to handle day-to-day accounting
functions; - Skills in maintaining and updating fixed
assets register with assets coding; - Proven ability to thrive under pressure;
- Good team player;
- Good technical accounting skills;
- Inventory management and controls.
